Schenectady Meal Information

Below are USDA and NY state approved meals for your viewing convenience. Cooking instructions are located in each meal bag. Meal photos will be updated each week. Schenectady City School District and Sodexo are working hard to make the best meals possible for your family so please be encouraged to come get them!

  • Grilled Cheese Sandwich - Tuesday Lunch/Wednesday Breakfast (12/1 - 112/2)
  • BBQ Chicken - Wednesday Lunch and Dinner/Thursday Breakfast (12/2 - 12/3)
  • Turkey Hotdog - Thursday Lunch and Dinner/Friday Breakfast (12/3 - 12/4)
  • Chicken Nuggets - Friday Lunch and Dinner/Monday Breakfast (12/4 - 12/7)

How does my child get meals if attending school virtually? 
Students who are attending school in a virtual environment will have meal tickets sent home. Bring one ticket, per child, per day to one of the several virtual meal pick up locations. If you have not received your meal tickets in the mail before  the first day of school/meal pickup, please just go to the site.
Meals are available for pick up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:30 pm –5:30pm from the following locations:
  • Schenectady High School by the Fine Arts Wing
  • Washington Irving Educational Center (WIEC)
  • Oneida Middle School
  • Central Park Middle School
  • Mont Pleasant Middle School
  • Paige Elementary School
  • Van Corlaer Elementary School
What do I need to bring to a virtual pick up site to get my child's meals? 
Each child has been sent a meal ticket to bring to redeem for meals. If your child(ren) needs tickets - please send a request by Let’s Talk, selecting Breakfast and Lunch.
Can parents/guardians pick up meals for their child? 
Yes, parents, guardians and caregivers are allowed to pick up meals for their child. Please bring a ticket for each child that a meal is being picked up for. Tickets are not transferable.
What if my child attends in-person (hybrid) and is not in school on a day when meals are distributed? 
If a child is absent on a meal distribution day (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), you can stop by a virtual meal site from 3:30pm-5:30pm and let the staff person know your child was absent from school and a meal is needed.
